This customer, located in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the R&D and production of high-energy-density lithium-ion battery cathode materials. The company's main products are high-nickel NCM (Ni≥80%) and NCA, primarily supplied to leading domestic power battery manufacturers. With the increasing demands for driving range in electric vehicles, the sensitivity of high-nickel materials to atmosphere (oxygen concentration, dew point) during sintering is becoming increasingly prominent: insufficient oxygen leads to increased lithium-nickel mixing and reduced capacity; excessive oxygen increases costs and poses safety risks. The customer's existing large roller kiln was mainly used for mass production, but it could not meet the R&D center's needs for rapid verification of small batches with multiple variables (different temperatures, atmospheres, and holding times). Therefore, the customer urgently needed a laboratory atmosphere muffle furnace with controllable atmosphere, rapid heating, and flexible operation for the early-stage formulation screening and process optimization of high-nickel cathode materials.

*“We initially purchased this Hydraulic bell-type atmosphere furnace simply to address the problem of insufficient oxidizing atmosphere during the sintering of high-nickel materials. After using it, we found its value far exceeded our expectations. First, the furnace's sealing performance is excellent—we used a dew point meter to measure the atmosphere inside the furnace, and at an oxygen flow rate of 1L/min, the dew point completely met the stringent low moisture requirements of high-nickel materials. Second, the temperature uniformity resulting from four-sided heating is satisfactory; even with crucibles in different locations, the difference in material volume after sintering is controlled within 1%. The equipment is also very user-friendly; our R&D staff could program it independently within half a day. The furnace chamber is easy to clean, and there is no cross-contamination when switching between different materials.
